Political Storm
In August 2004, I was hired as a weekly columnist for Political Storm, a tri-partisan (conservative, moderate and liberal) blog which featured 15 columnists from all areas of the ideological spectrum.
It was a lot of fun, until December of that year when Political Storm’s CEO announced the company had run out of money and was no longer going to update the site. He added that he was moving on to a new project and subtly admitted this project had failed.
It was the demise of Political Storm that made me want to write my own columns on my own blog, named after my own column on Political Storm, I’m Not The Only One.
The following pages are the columns I wrote for Political Storm. Please enjoy them and feel free to comment. Also, because the CEO paid two or three years up front for the server space, a static Political Storm is still available for viewing. The other columnists are great writers and great minds, so I encourage you to check out their work as well.
Just for kicks, here’s my bio from Political Storm:
After writing short stories, Daniel Cuevas decided to write about that which is stranger than fiction, writing and editing for small newspapers in Queens and Brooklyn for the last four years. Daniel currently freelances regularly for the Queens Ledger/Brooklyn Star and lives in Flushing, Queens.
Careful to not let school get in the way of his education, Daniel’s collegiate experience pales in comparison to the education one gets with an assignment, a pen, a pad and a Metrocard. Always a sucker for a good story, Daniel has always been drawn to writing in one aspect or another, and intends to remain so until the universe runs out of stories to tell.
