- 2007-Present I’m Not The Only One 50 hits per day Flushing, NY Blogger In January 2007 I launched I’m Not The Only One, a weekly blog offering social and political commentary from a libertarian perspective. With a particular focus on the 2008 Presidential election, INTOO’s topics range from public policy to politics to race relations in the U.S.
- 2004-2005 York College/City University of New York Jamaica, NY Office Assistant Working primarily for the college’s Public Relations Department, my job involved writing press releases promoting people and events related to the college and sending the releases out to various media outlets, assisting the PR Dept. in writing and proofreading articles for the college newsletter and interviewing faculty, staff, students and alumni for the newsletter. I also worked for York’s Publications Department by taking on graphic design jobs such as designing custom business cards, stationery, envelopes, flyers, booklets, etc., for various departments within the college and for various York personnel.
- 2004-2005 Political Storm New York, NY Columnist Political Storm was a tri-partisan web-based magazine devoted to raising the level of political discourse. Conservative, moderate and liberal columnists wrote a weekly column giving their particular viewpoint on various issues.
- 2003-2006 Pandora’s Box Circulation: 8,000/monthly Jamaica, NY Community Affairs Editor Pandora’s Box is the student newspaper of York College. In addition to writing news stories, I also proofed and edited reporters’ articles, trained new reporters, wrote captions, laid out stories and photos using Quark and trained students to specifically handle the graphic design aspects of the newspaper’s production. In 2007 I resigned from my staff position and worked as a reporter.
- 2002-2006 Queens Ledger/Greenpoint Star Circulation: 150,000/weekly Maspeth, NY Freelance Reporter I wrote articles weekly for the Ledger and its Brooklyn paper, the Star, covering news and events in both boroughs as well as covering citywide issues. In an effort to better inform voters, I began a series of profiles showcasing challengers for political offices in both boroughs.
- 2002-2003 Queens Chronicle Circulation: 250,000/weekly Rego Park, NY Freelance Reporter I wrote articles weekly for the Chronicle, covering news and events in Queens. I also wrote feature articles for the paper’s Senior Spotlight section as well as various advertorials.
- 2001-2002 LGNY/LGNY Latino Circulation: 175,000/bi-weekly New York, NY Freelance Reporter I wrote articles for Lesbian and Gay New York and its bilingual monthly supplement, LGNY Latino. Most of the coverage involved grassroots politics and profiles of various LGBT organizations.
- 2000-2002 Queens Courier Circulation: 500,000/weekly Bayside, NY Intern/Sports Editor/Staff Reporter/Freelance Reporter Intern/Sports Editor/Staff Reporter/Freelance Reporter Interning at the Queens Courier in September 2000, I wrote an average of three articles per week. In November 2000 I was given a paid position as the newspaper’s sports editor. When my weekly assignments were completed well before deadline, the managing editor assigned me a general story to cover. In November of 2001, I was made a part-time staff reporter, responsible for covering northwest and southeast Queens as well as the police blotter. In December 2001 I resigned from my staff position and freelanced for the Courier until May of 2002.

- Familiar with most image-editing applications, e-mail, Microsoft Word and WordPerfect, Microsoft Outlook as well as Quark Express, Internet Explorer and PowerPoint.

- Fluent in Spanish, basic HTML and currently learning Mandarin (Chinese).
